The berry gardens

Plant a seed, water it, wait. Eight berries grow in the soil patches of the Five Lands, and each one helps your spirits on the road.

Plant, water, wait

Grandma hands you a Watering Can and three Neem Berry Seeds the first time you leave her house with your new spirit. After that, the gardens are yours.
